چکیده مقاله
In this study, the tub vibration as one of the most common issues of washing machines (WM) is examined through numerical modeling and experimental investigation. The suspension sys-tem of the WM containing the tub, springs, dampers, counter balance masses, and motor, is simulated in the Adams/View software. In many previous researches, the dry friction damp-ers were simulated by the Coulomb friction model. Since, the non-linear behavior of the Cou-lomb model, the multibody dynamic model would be heavy in terms of computational costs. Thus, a smooth function (arctan) is fitted to the experimental force-displacement of the damper and employed instead of the Coulomb function. Experimental tests are performed us-ing a 300 gr unbalance magnet in the middle of the drum, and at the spin-dry cycle with the speed of 1400 rpm. The results depict that the model does well predict the vibration of the WM and can be used for design and optimization purposes.
