Estimating operational deflection shape (ODS) has been an important subject due to its simplicity and accuracy in modal analysis especially in building and automotive studies. In the last decade, the ODS estimation method has been used for Operational Modal Analysis (OMA) testing frequently to identify modal parameters for in-situ structural vibration case studies. For these tests, the output of the vibration responses, via accelerometers only, have been employed in their analysis. This paper though presents a theoretical and numerical study on sound radiated of a vibrating clamped rectangular plate. The ODS estimation is employed, for the first time, in analyzing both acoustic and vibration response of the case study. The results show that the use of radiated acoustic data can be reliable in identifying forced vibration deflection at a proper distance from the plate which enables parameters to be recovered
